Four kinds of classification of cast aluminum alloy

According to the difference of main alloying elements, there are four kinds of casting aluminum alloys.

    (1) Al Si alloy is also called "Si Al Ming" or "Si Al Ming". The alloy has good casting and wear resistance and small thermal expansion coefficient, and the largest variety and the largest silicon content in casting aluminum alloy is 10% to 25%. Sometimes 0.2% ~ 0.6% mg Si Al alloy is widely used in structural parts, such as shell, cylinder block, box and frame. Sometimes adding appropriate amount of copper and magnesium can improve the mechanical properties and heat resistance of the alloy. This kind of alloy is widely used in the manufacture of piston and other components.

    (2) Al Cu alloy and copper 4.5% ~ 5.3% alloy have the best strengthening effect. Proper addition of Mn and Ti can significantly improve room temperature, high temperature strength and casting performance. It is mainly used for making sand casting with large dynamic and static load and complicated shape.

    (3) Al Mg alloy with the lowest density (2.55g/cm3) and the highest strength (about 355MPa) of the cast aluminum alloy, containing 12% mg, has the best reinforcement effect. The alloy has good corrosion resistance in the atmosphere and seawater, and has good comprehensive mechanical properties and machinability at room temperature. It can be used as a radar base, aircraft engine case, propeller, landing gear and other parts. It can also be used as a decorative material.

    (4) Al Zn alloys are often added silicon and magnesium to improve their properties. They are often referred to as zinc, silicon and aluminum. Under casting condition, the alloy has quenching effect, that is, self hardening. It can be used without heat treatment. After heat treatment, the castings have high strength. After stabilization, the size is stable. It is commonly used for making models, panels and equipment supports.

The cast aluminum alloy has the same alloy system as the deformed aluminum alloy, which has the same strengthening mechanism as the deformed aluminum alloy (except for strain strengthening). The main difference is that the maximum content of the alloying element silicon in the cast aluminum alloy exceeds the silicon content in most of the deformed aluminum alloys. In addition to the strengthening elements, the cast aluminum alloy must also contain enough eutectic elements (usually silicon) to make the alloy have a considerable fluidity, and the shrinkage joints of the castings when the casting is filled. At present, there are only 6 kinds of basic alloys.

    AI-Cu alloy, AI-Cu-Si alloy, AI-Si alloy, AI-Mg alloy, AI-Zn-Mg alloy, AI-Sn alloy.
